Why hello there!

Welcome to Points Well Made.

First things first, let's do some introductions. My name is Sam, and I am the one man team behind Points Well Made. I guess you could say I had too much time on my hands and felt like I could give myself more work to do, more's the pity.

I started Points Well Made through a sense of frustration. My personal points journey is a relatively short one (so far) having been fortunate enough to start in 2019. Starting out with the free British Airways American Express and collecting points slowly but surely. People would ask me why I was paying for things with it, was I in fact compensating for something…

I would then explain that for everything I spend I earn Avios points, and ultimately I’ll be able to club them all together for a free flight! “That’s amazing, I never knew you could do that” is what they would all mostly say, and then they’d say “I should really be doing this…”

YES.

Everyone should be taking advantage of this system that exists around us. And here comes the frustration, they would never sign up or do anything about it. Now this could just be a statement regarding apathy in today’s society, or is it more that we’ve all been taught post 2008 that credit cards are bad and scary?

This in essence is why I set up Points Well Made, to be the go to place for newcomers into this space, because yes, credit cards can be confusing, and with high interest rates can seem scary. My aim is to distil this all down into easy to understand articles so that more people can take advantage of the system and travel in the ways they’ve always dreamed about.

Hopefully you can use Points Well Made to springboard yourself onto bigger and better things.
